Well, Mary Adams has a tooth! One of her bottom front teeth broke through the skin this past weekend. She's been so good I can't believe she had a tooth coming through. Poor thing! I can't get her to keep her mouth open to get a picture of it but it's there alright!
Here is Mary Adams' very first bite of "big girl" food! It's just rice cereal that is about the same consistency of formula but it was a very big deal in our house. This is a picture of her first time eating with a spoon so of course I had to use her silver spoon that Nana gave her and her prettiest bib from Nellie. Most of it ended up on that bib but it was a good first try! Her second time trying- still more on her face than in her mouth but she has since gotten much better at eating with a spoon.

Four Months Old
We went to the doctor last week for Mary Adams' four month checkup...
Weight: 14 lbs, 11 oz.
Height: 25 3/4"
Head circumference: 16 1/4"
Quite a leap from where we were at our last checkup two months ago! Her pediatrician said she is doing wonderfully and is meeting all of her milestones right on track (rolling over, sitting with support, holding head up, bearing weight on legs, and pushing up while on stomach). Happy birthday, MA! To illustrate exactly how much she's grown, I posted this picture of her at four weeks old. What a difference from four weeks to months!

We're Back...
Well, we made it! For the past two weeks we have been making the rounds from Greensboro to Princeton to Pinehurst! Here is Mary Adams getting ready to pack for our big trip over Christmas and New Year's. We drove (with a baby and dog, mind you) from Atlanta to Princeton, NJ! Sounds crazy I know but luckily neither the baby nor the dog threw any fits. As for Charley and me- that's another story. I'm joking, it went surprisingly well!! Our first stop was in Greensboro, NC to break up the trip and visit Aunt Elizabeth. Thanks, Liz, for letting us stay in your wonderful new house!
In Princeton at long last. The should-have-been nine hour long drive took us eleven because of the worst traffic I have ever been! It was nearly bumper to bumper north of Richmond through Philadelphia- unbelievable. See how happy we are to be out of the car with GrandMil to greet us?
Christmas Eve morning after we arrived the night before: here's MA in her bumbo before we go play in the snow.
Here's our little family all bundled up for the cold weather. Ruby and Bess loved each other and had so much fun in the snow.
Our little polar bear nearly blends in with the snow!

Charles and MA before dinner on Christmas night
Ruby and Bess during dinner begging to come in!
Mary Adams playing in one of her new toys that Santa brought her while we ate dinner
GrandMil and MA at her sip and see a couple of days later
Finally we made it back down South where we spent New Year's in Pinehurst. We had so much fun but I'm only posting one picture (because I'm exhausted again after looking through all the pictures!)- Mary Adams on NYE. She's playing with another toy from Christmas. And no, we did not let her stay up until twelve- though there was talk of waking her up just before so we could have a real New Year's baby in a diaper and tophat to ring in 2010. I said "No!"...
